Samuli Heimonen was born in Saarijärvi, Central Finland. Heimonen, who currently lives and works in Jyväskylä, graduated with a Master of Arts from the Master of Fine Arts programme of the University of Art and Design in 2002. He held his first solo exhibition in 2000 and has participated in group exhibitions in Finland and abroad since 1998.
