Mayah Holmberg is an artist based in Helsinki, working in both the visual and performing arts. Her extensive background in dance and performance art also informs her visual practice, with her works often taking shape through embodied thinking. Her works are held in private collections in Finland, France, Colombia, Argentina, Nicaragua, Mexico, and the United States.

Holmberg’s paintings explore memory, space, and embodied experience. In these intimate, abstract works, colours blend into one another in translucent layers, while vivid accents punctuate the surface. The forms evoke bodies, objects, or landscapes, yet remain open to interpretation. They are like moments within a movement or a memory: breaths, shifts of weight, and fleeting traces.
