Sanna Myrttinen

Sanna Myrttinen

1973

Sanna Myrttinen has worked as a visual artist since 2002, regularly participating in solo and group exhibitions across Europe, the United States and Asia. She holds a master’s degree in forest sciences and a qualification in art education. She also studied under the Swedish artist Åke Arph. Myrttinen is a member of Germany’s Federal Association of Visual Artists, BBK (Bundesverband Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler e.V.).

Sanna Myrttinen’s works seek to foster a sense of belonging. They offer gateways to stillness and harmony in an increasingly polarised, isolated and fractured world. Her meditative landscapes speak a language that brings Eastern philosophy together with her Nordic roots. Inner growth and our connection to nature and one another are recurring themes in her work.

“Like life itself, the interplay of ink and water is difficult to control. Working with ink brings the joy of watching it find unexpected paths, but it is also about acceptance and practising patience. With just a few colours and brushstrokes, new landscapes and moods emerge as if from nothing.”
