Laura Annala

Laura Annala is a painter from Lapua. In her art, Annala explores the diversity of life and human relationships. Everyday still lifes are transformed into colourful and rich works of art, each with its own story, time and place. In Annala’s mind, the still lifes in her works invite viewers to reflect on the life surrounding them.

Where have the flowers come from, who chose them, and what message are they meant to convey? Is it the first light of dawn, a warm lunch on a perfect summer’s day, a romantic dinner, or a nightcap stretching into the early hours? When painting a piece, Laura is always painting a much larger story of which the artwork is merely a detail.

“Through my art, I aim to capture the gaze of someone longing for a moment’s respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I offer the viewer a brief moment to pause, and perhaps the artwork will even bring a smile or a sense of comfort to that very moment.”
