Katja Tukiainen

Katja Tukiainen is an artist known for her pink-hued world of girls. Her works often feature cute girl and animal characters in pastel shades who, despite their sensitivity, are strong and brave. Vivid oil colours and slogans reinforce messages about serious issues within dreamlike landscapes.

Tukiainen lives and works in Helsinki and holds a doctorate in fine arts. Over her long career, she has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in dozens of group exhibitions in Finland and abroad. Her works are held in several public and private collections, including those of Kiasma, HAM Helsinki Art Museum and the Finnish State Art Collection. She has also created public artworks in Finland and Sweden.
