Heidi Krogerus

Heidi Krogerus (b. 1984) lives and works in Porvoo. She also works at the Porvoo Graphics Workshop and in the Sivupiiri writing community. She paints mainly with oil colours.

The artist explores the anthropogenic connection with nature and other social themes. Her art’s mission is, without proclaiming anything, to be a comforting celebration of beauty. She celebrates our existing world, without despairing in the face of the loss of nature. The paintings convey a sense of hopefulness. Krogerus graduated as an award-winning media artist from the Lahti Institute of Design and became a full-time visual artist in 2022. Her technique is based on classical painting, which she studied as a private artist’s apprentice in India.

The artist has lived in nine different countries and her work reflects the influence of different cultures. Her works are in private collections in Finland, Brazil and Austria.
