Elina Melgin

Elina Melgin is a painter and holds a PhD. She has worked as a professional painter for around ten years and will graduate in fine arts from the Turku Arts Academy in 2027.

Melgin’s practice centres on two series. Wanderer’s Horizons consists of semi-abstract landscapes, while her narrative paintings draw on stories and beliefs. They explore the things we often take for granted that underpin our humanity, values and ethical understanding.

Melgin paints intuitively, and her varied background informs both her subjects and artistic expression. Some of her paintings contain references to art history and different historical periods.
