Carolina Grunér

Carolina Grunér (b. 1982) is a self-taught painter who lives and works in Sipoo, Finland. She has been painting full-time since 2013 and is particularly known for her oil paintings, characterised by delicate shades of pink, light, and an intuitive painting technique. From 2017 to 2019, Carolina lived and worked in New Zealand, which increased international demand for her work and introduced entirely new shades to her palette, inspired by the local natural environment. Her paintings have been widely acquired by private collectors around the world.

For Carolina, painting is an ongoing, profound process in which she surrenders fully to inspiration, daring to let go of the mind’s desire to control the outcome. Each painting and the process of its creation thus become a dialogue between the material and the immaterial.
