Paula Pääkkönen is a glassblower and artist who has chosen glass as her primary medium because of its challenges and endless possibilities. Glassblowing techniques are a major source of inspiration for her and an integral part of her artistic practice.

As an artist, she explores themes related to childhood, memories and the imagination. Pääkkönen is best known for her ‘Assorted Flavours’ series of unique, mouth-blown ice-cream sculptures, which she has been working on since 2017. The theme has now grown into a ever-growing series of sweet treats, recently focusing on subjects from Pääkkönen’s own candyworld.

Pääkkönen has held several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibition in Finland and abroad, i.e. USA, Japan and France. Her art can be found in several private and public collections, such as the Finnish Glass Museum’s Contemporary Glass collection. She is also known for her collaboration with fashion brand Benetton in year 2025.
